Entry-Level Programs

overview
CastleOak’s two-year analyst program provides industry exposure, training, and networking opportunities.

The firm’s smaller size ensures analysts have a seat at the table, offering direct involvement in deals, while our flat organization offers access to leaders who have extensive knowledge and relationships. Analysts engage in ongoing training designed to build both skills and industry knowledge. With opportunities for social engagement built in, CastleOak’s analyst program offers a comprehensive experience to help you define the next step in your career.

Banking Program

Over the course of two years in this department, analysts will come away with skills in financial advisory, capital markets, and transaction execution, including analyzing information, preparing cash flow analyses, requests for proposals, client presentations, and conducting research. Analysts will gain skills in sourcing and pitching Capital Markets and Investment Banking capabilities, assisting Syndicate and engaging with Sales & Trading on executing Capital Markets transactions, delivering feedback to a client post-transaction, engaging in financial modeling, and performing analysis for M&A dealings.

Sales & Trading Program

Over the course of two years in this department, analysts will come away with skills in analysis, evaluation, origination, trading, and settlement of a wide variety of fixed-income securities, including federal agencies, money markets, U.S. Treasuries, corporates, supra national, MBS, ABS and municipals.  Analysts will become proficient with industry-wide and proprietary electronic trading and research platforms.

Internship Program

Our annual summer internship program has become a flagship program for us. We provide a comprehensive banking or sales & trading experience to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as workplace exposure for high school students. The program teaches a number of professional skills, including teamwork, how to interview, working in a professional environment, delivering on job responsibilities, and client relationship development. We are very proud to say that our former interns have gone on to do incredible things, both on Wall Street and beyond.

Key Components

Training

Participants learn on the job, enjoying direct involvement in deals and access to leaders who have extensive knowledge and relationships. The formal training component of the analyst program builds both skills and industry knowledge, provided through a combination of internal experts and external sources.

We train analysts in a variety of skills, from Bloomberg to capital structures to financial modeling to yields and spreads, as well as offering individualized professional skill coursework. In addition, we partner with world-class leaders who offer programs that help our firm enter new business areas and attract more investors. We are proud to offer a range of training opportunities that exposes our analysts to the concepts, tools, and immersive learning opportunities needed to thrive in the business.

Social/Networking

The social component of the analyst program supports relationship-building and broader industry exposure within the firm. Every other month, analysts participate in a formalized social activity with others in the firm. These events range in size and makeup, with the objective of fostering both team cohesion and firm integration. Recent examples include happy hours, mini golf, and ice cream socials.

The program also supports relationship-building and industry exposure outside of the firm. CastleOak analysts have opportunities to interact with analysts at our partner organizations and periodically participate in networking groups and industry events.

Path to Success

Starting your career at CastleOak serves as a launching pad for a range of opportunities. We provide our interns and analysts with tools to succeed, from networking opportunities to hands-on software skill building to learning directly from industry veterans. Our analysts have a front row seat alongside seasoned professionals for a hands-on apprenticeship in learning the business. They enjoy direct client access and are involved in the entire deal process.

Our analysts have gone on to hold a variety of positions with progressive responsibility, at CastleOak, on Wall Street, and beyond. Hover to see some of the roles CastleOak alumni have gone on to.
